About

I’m an associate professor of biology at Benedictine University, in the Chicago suburbs. I teach pre-meds and pre-pharms and other pre-‘s about ecology and animal behavior, and sometimes even introductory courses. I’m also a mom of three boys (the oldest is in second grade, and the younger two are identical twins), two cats, and a dog. In my spare time, I like to run, bike, read, sew, knit, and am trying to learn to play guitar. (And if you guessed that I don’t have a lot of spare time, you’d be right!)

And my research always has something to do with plant-insect interactions, butterflies if I can… My favorite is the black swallowtail butterfly, a female of which graces the front page of this blog.
